Explore Nature is a time to unplug, get outside and explore all that nature has to offer. This program allows our young learners to experience the outdoors and nature. Explore Nature is an outdoor learning experience – rain or shine, we will learn outdoors. We will use our indoor space at Pawsitively Pets in extreme weather and for a portion of each day for some of our animal programs. All of our programs are created with the concept of experiential learning, exploring our curiosity for nature and the natural world. Working with our experienced team of outdoor educators children will connect with nature and living things, spending our day outside exploring the world around them. This is a unique experience that is difficult to achieve in conventional learning environments.

TUESDAY WINTER Forest School Program: Open to children 4-8 years old. Tuesday, January 14 to Tuesday, March 4 (8 weeks) 9am – 2:30pm – $445.00
WEDNESDAY WINTER Forest School Program: Open to children 4-8 years old. Wednesday, January 15 to Wednesday, March 5 (8 weeks) 9am – 2:30pm – $445.00
THURSDAY WINTER Forest School Program: Open to children 4-8 years old. Thursday, January 16 to Thursday, March 6 (8 weeks) 9am – 2:30pm – $445.00
Open to children 4 to 8 years old to attend independently. This program allows our young learners to experience the outdoors and nature. The programs take place outside – rain or shine, we will use our indoor space at Pawsitively Pets in extreme weather and for a portion of each day for some of our animal programs.
*Covered in the registration fees - the group will work with our on-staff therapist/Social Worker for 3 group sessions in the term. We will work on big feelings, self-esteem and self-confidence. Up to $150 of the terms registration fee can be claimed back through extended health care benefefits with coverage.

Explore Nature is a time to unplug, get outside and explore all that nature has to offer. This is a drop-off program for children to attend independently. Our outdoor educators will take the group out in the forest of Sunnybrook Park and Serena Gundy to explore and learn all about nature and the living world. The program's focus is to allow the group to lead through an inquiry-based approach and create a fun environment to work together. Children will have the chance to learn through shelter building, animal tracking, pond/stream exploration, nature crafts and sharing experiences and stories.

Pre-K - KINDERGARTEN PREP Program – children 3-5 years old
Children must be 3 years old at the start of the program and fully toilet trained and kindergarten age for September 2024. Program is open to children born in 2019-2020.
Monday or Friday mornings in the Forest – PROGRAM WILL RESUME IN THE SPRING 2025
Explore Nature Pre-K program focuses on empowering children to lead the way and explore learning outdoors. The program is committed to letting children learn through exploring hands-on, work at their own pace and learn through working together. Our program will focus on creative play, shelter building, nature crafts, connecting with animals, sharing stories of our adventures and appreciating our surroundings. This program is a great way to get your child ready for Kindergarten!
Toddler & Caregiver Outdoor Nature Program – 18 MOnths-3.5
All children must attend with their caregiver.
Monday morning– 9:30am – 11:30am
Each week we will explore all that nature has to offer in the forest of Sunnybrook Park and Serena Gundy. Our outdoor educator will work with the children and caregivers to explore the natural environment, navigating different ground, balancing, exploring using sensory touch and building and digging using fine motor skills.
WINTER Session 2025:
Caregiver & Tot Program – Outdoor Education Program: Open to children 18 months to 3.5 years old to attend with a caregiver. Monday, January 13 to Monday, March 3 (8 weeks - no class on Monday, February 18- Family Day) 9:30am – 11:30am - $195.00 + HST
